Skills Development for Matching Labour Market Needs in Georgia

The overall objective is to improve the employability of women and men in the selected regions of Georgia, enhancing the capacity of beneficiary ministries, agencies and local communities to develop, implement, monitor and review skills development and matching policies.

Components

• Transversal support to national sector policy development, implementation and monitoring
• Skills development and modernisation of the VET and lifelong learning systems
• Youth and entrepreneurial learning
• Skills matching
• Support to grant scheme implementation and policy dialogue

Activities

• Gap analysis, annual review meetings and thematic fora, and training needs analysis of ministry staff
• Support to secondary legislation under the new VET law, and review of career guidance and counselling services
• Review of non-formal education programmes, social entrepreneurship initiatives, and entrepreneurship training for teachers and higher education
• Revision of the employment service model and active labour market measures, and upgrade of the LMIMS portal
• Preparation of an information campaign on the SRPC grant scheme and progress reports on reforms
