Education for Employability (E4E) in South Africa

The overall objective is more inclusive, equitable and quality education and employment prospects for South African youth. The project provides technical assistance to the National Treasury and the three key implementing departments (DBE, DHET and DEL) in the design, administration and implementation of the Education for Employability (E4E) Budget Support Sector Reform Programme.

Components

• E4E programme management and monitoring and evaluation
• Strengthening the implementing agents
• Coordination, communications and knowledge sharing
• Support to implementation and monitoring of the grants programme

Activities

• Development and updating of the theory of change and logframe, integrated business planning and reporting systems, and support to payment files and tranche conditions
• Support to the governance structures, EU-South Africa sector dialogue and the EU Delegation
• Improvement of operational frameworks and staff capacity in the three sector departments, and coordination with the National Treasury
• Support to the launch, monitoring and technical assistance of grants projects, and capitalisation and dissemination of lessons learned
