European Project Management Ltd. has started implementing the EuropeAid project contract “Technical Assistance for for the Establishment of Rize Tea Research and Application Centre (TRAC)” in Turkey together with WYG Türkiye (Turkey), WYG International Limited (UK) and INCATEMA Consulting & Engineering S.L. (Spain) in a consortium led by the Project Group (Turkey).

Project Title: Technical Assistance for for the Establishment of Rize Tea Research and Application Centre (TRAC)

Value of the Contract: 1 800 500 EUR

The purpose of the project is to improve the common R&D, innovation and business development infrastructure that will be used by the tea producer SMEs in Rize and its environs. The project is composed of three components:

  • Improvement of the Institutional Capacity of the End Recipient of Assistance (ERA) and Tea Research and Application Centre (TRAC): This involves (a) development of a strategic framework that will enhance competitiveness of the tea industry; (b) preparation of business plans, service delivery manuals, a corporate plan etc. for TRAC and its departments; and (c) operationalisation of the TRAC.
  • Increasing the Productivity and Product Quality of the Tea Producing SMEs: a) conducting strategic research and studies that would enhance productivity and product quality, b) providing technical assistance to TRAC’s R&D and Training and Consultancy Departments in delivery of business development services to the target groups of the Project.
  • Increasing the Marketing Capabilities of the Tea Producing SMEs: improve the marketing capabilities of tea producing SMEs through both collective (regional) and enterprise-level initiatives.

Contract description:

The overall objective of this project is to improve the readiness of Turkey for future implementation of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP).  The project aims at increasing the capacity of Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock (MoFAL) with the introduction of control elements and risk evaluation required for the future implementation of Integrated Administration and Control System (IACS) and use of Land Parcel Identification System (LPIS). For this purpose the following result will be achieved:

  • IACS software will be developed, control elements and risk evaluation methodology will be set,
  • Capacity of MoFAL staff in usage of IACS software and OTSC methodology will be improved.

Project Title: Provision of Technical Assistance to the Government of Tajikistan in support to improved quality of education in the areas of general education and Initial Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) – Lot 1 – Technical Assistance to the Ministry of Education and Science in the areas of In-Service Teacher Training, Learning Assessment and Planning, Budgeting and Monitoring

Value of the Contract: 7 165 000 EUR

The purpose of the contract is to support efficient and effective education service delivery at secondary education and Initial Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) levels in order to improve learning outcomes.

The contract aims at supporting the development of a continuous professional development system for secondary education and initial TVET serving teachers and trainers, at supporting the development of a National Learning Assessment System for general education and at strengthening planning, budgeting and monitoring (PBM) process within the education sector.
